Answers: If you are going to call someone out, do it by name.
Here is the question that I made the remark about your answer being a bad one. Even though the asker chose to follow your advice, I still do not agree with you, and also because the asker chose your answer does not make all the other answers wrong.

Running a 4 gauge or larger wire through the fender and in through the door boot is not a good idea because:
1) the door can pinch the wire
2) Making a hole in either door boot gives water a place to enter, and there are alot of important and expensive modules located in the kick panels.
3) some door boots 'plug' into the door and the car. It is not simply a hollow tube for wires to travel through, it is a molded flexible boot that has a large plastic plug on either end.
As for the thumbs down, for some reason since the last time I checked, I have recieved one on every question I have answered. hmmmm.. That must have taken some time.

Yeah, I guess I can be a little cocky sometimes. I was probably in a bad mood when I answered the question we were talking about. I think we all can learn from each other here. The thing with me is that I don't mind stepping on toes if I think the asker might take one of the answers the wrong way and possibly tear something up in their car. I should have taken the time to list why I thought your answer could be risky if not done correctly. I'll try not to be such a d!ck from now on. No hard feelings?
Amen Brother!!!
Why is this in the car audio section? Why not in the 'Waaaa' section?
J/K, yeah, people just answer just to get the measly 2 points.
-Grow up people!
amen, and well said, to that I'm going through the same old crap in automotive, but i see it all the time,id like to have a dollar for all the answers i have pulled, its getting bad on here,it used to be a good place to come and help people, not any more, its more like a war going on in here now,the way i look at it ,every ones in title to an opinion good or bad,its up to the the person who asked the question to choose, not the individual people, but one good thing about it,when we cut the computer off,its over with for the night, good luck to you and all.
i hear ya. i learned not to try and answer late late at night. left some answer saying to hook something up 5 ohms on a svc or somethin weird. think he added that it was a svc after i commented tho, but still...5 ohms? i dno wtf lol. i took it out tho.
i personally like the answers that have NO punctuation whatsoever. so you read something like: take positive of one to positive of the other ground the wire run the negative to the other ground and connect them together and voila everything is peachy. throw in some numbers in there too to add to the confusion >.<

'i wish i knew the answer to this question'
just for 2 points. *sigh*
i think its important for people to exercise comman sense when picking a answer to there question. if something seems off, then it probably is. this isnt the gospel in here, and no one knows anyone. theres no line of trust, its all just a bunch of random strangers. opinions are opinions and everyone has one, i'm just sick of hearing how great the L7 is, lol. anywho, what i'm trying to say is although we do answer a lot of questions correctly, its always wise to double check an answer in here. reason being is we all know car audio is expensive. and i personally dont want to see anyone fry an amp, or sub, or even worse not run a line fuse from the + on the battery, cause of bad advise in here. just be careful people
its spelled correcting and wow there are some GOOD answers
