Who installs car alarms??

Question: My truck was recently broken into. I have a lot of expensive stereo equipment, along with my laptop that I normally carry around in there.

I have been looking around at some pretty hardcore aftermarket car alarm/remote start systems.

Seems like they would be extremely complicated to install, and I DONT want to tear anything up myself... I dont even know where to begin on finding someone to install one... Where should I look?
Answers: Find a good auto electrician or dedicated alarm installer.
I have spent years installing alarms (now retired due to health) and know that there are numerous installations available. You will need to talk over with a professional what type of alarm coverage you require and he should be able to offer different types and different prices.
Do not go for the cheapest, also it is not necessary to go for the most expensive.
OK you should check out Best buy or Circuit city. They have tons of alarms and they even have some with window breaking tech. (The alarm goes off if someone breaks your window.) Plus you can get a remote starter with it which would allow you to A: start your car from the house (great on them cold or hot days) and B: it has a kill switch that cuts off your gas line if the key is not in and someone steps on the break. (You must step on the break to change gear into drive). These type of systems are really great they have multi purposes and they work great.
jesus?...circuit city or best buy you could buy it there too and get them to install it for half price
Dont ever go to circuit city or best buy!!! I've seen the work they have done before and it gives installers a bad name. I would look around in your area for a shop, phonebooks and ads. As for a system I strongly reccommend the APS997, APS997a. I have one on my vehicle and I love it. It comes with a 2-way pager and lets you know if the car is locked or unlocked or if the alarm is going off.
Whatever you decide stay away from DEI products. They only have a year warranty and don't back up their products. Prestige and code alarm come with a lifetime warranty parts and labor. If you wanted to you could also add sensors like a motion sensor or a glass break sensor, but the alarm should be sufficient.
