People who play car stereos really loud, did you know....??

Question: that studies have been done, showing that your IQ is below normal? also, if there's a child in the car, you're putting the it at high risk for hearing loss, VERY low IQ, and behavioral problems?
Answers: Yes, I did know this. Most people who do that don't care though. To bad for them. : )
But we are way too cool to care. Plus did YOU know that driving without a stereo on really loud, makes you a gimp.
Oh please! Where did you get this supposed proof? A Cracker Jack box?

Cite your source, please.

And judging by your grammar, I think you have no business griping about people with low IQ's.

Pot, meet Kettle.
how loud is really loud, i listen to my radio pretty loud and im not worried about my IQ... besides its just a study its not true for everyone. The hearing loss though I will believe.
Really?! Where did you hear that from? I know there are a lot of people that drive by my house and have their **** blasting so loud that it shakes the damned windows.
Is this a question or a statement? However, people that do that should have respect for the time of day (evening) that they are doing so and also if the song has swear words etc. in it they shouldnt be blaring it for the world to hear. I dont want MY kids to hear their crap for sure!
I also think it is perhaps an extension of something not yet found to be missing amongst themselves.
but your stereo is above average you win some you lose some lol
I Think That People That Do That Show Off What They Have And I Think If You Work Hard For It You Sould
I have actually have heard of that before. Anyone that would subject a child to that has issues and shouldnt be caring for a child.
I've seen those studies, and the related ones that claim to prove that rap/rock/pop and other modern music makes mice dumber. But they are all severly flawed in their methodology, and all for the same reason. The intelligence tests are skewed to a controlled, orderly system. The mice are running a maze, the people are taking standardized IQ tests. When the same studies are done, but referencing real world IQ indicators, such as useful skill assesments and observations of sucess in real-world situations, they find the opposite correlation.

It could be deduced that moderate volume, classical music increases capability at testing, and loud, modern music increases capability at real ability. Think of it as book smarts versus street smarts.

You're dead right about the hearing loss though.
I agree with you.

You can also get the worse thing I believe you can get:

High, loud sound can also damage the inner ear and cause tinnitus. That terrible, horrible buzzing, ringing of the ears/head that only goes away with death.

Ask anybody who suffer with tinnitus and they will tell you how miserable their lives is because of it.

Yes, people should be more conscious of how much damage high/loud sound can do to their bodies and how much suffering can bring to their lives.
Well that is actually interesting, but these studies sound a bit slippery if you catch my meaning. Also, yes a baby's hearing is extremely sensitive, because hearing naturally degrades over a lifetime. Did you know that the reason those strange cell phone rings work is because depending on your age you have lost the ability to hear sound over a certain frequency? The normal frequency range of a healthy, young ear is from 20Hz-20kHz, but an average adult can only hear up to 12-14kHz. Also, although you mention they may be dumb :), bass must be pushed to much higher levels of dB to affect the ear in the way higher frequencies do, because a treble wave is many times faster than a bass wave and thus much more destructive to hearing.
one has nothing to do with the other, and i hate people who will take a statistic and use it as a means of argument. for example did you know that we are not diminish our forests? in fact there are more trees today than 100 years ago... that is all true, but what is missing is the fact that the trees of today are about 6 ft. tall and of 100 years ago they were enormous.... see my point... statistics do not mean a thing. they are tools used by people who have no other facts to try and prove a point that can not be prooven...

also did you know that only 1% of men find red heads more attractive than blonds and brunnets, therefor i suspect 99% of all men would find you ugly..
Hey I'm a hearing specialist, and those kids with the damaged hearing are going to help me pay for my retirement. So please don't tell them they are deafening themselves!
thats kinda funny cause i have an iq of 164 and i listen to my sh*t cranked
your a dumb p.o.s
1. I have an IQ over 139 .
2. I just earned a 1525 on my SATs.
3. I have a million friends, a job, and my priorities are in place.
4. None of these studies have been done.
5. My Jeep has 5000 watts of high quality loud music, and while children love to hear it, I never play it loud for long enough to cause them ANY permanent injuries.
6. Stop ranting lies.
OK I gotta jump on this one. The IQ part I'm not sure I'm not that smart to research that. I did read on a magazine while visiting the doctor a study some people did. It said that it having a loud system may lead to liver problems. Well so far I'm healthy as a horse. Like someone else in here said we are waaaaaaay to cool to worry about that. We all gonna died someday. I do agree that you shouldn't blast it up when kids are in the car i don't even turn it up with my dog is in the car.
If that is true Airosmith and any other old band would be put in a home for the mentally handicapped. Show some thing to back up your claim, other wise you look like a fool.
See Rick G's comment, LOL. Too funny and true.
what, i am having trouble reading what u wrote hang on let me turn my music down
