For men/women who know about car speakers??
Question: My husband has bought a car that the 6x9 speakers are blown. He said that he is wanting a new set of speakers. I was wanting to know what is a good brand of speakers that are not really expensive. I have been offered a pair of Pyramid 6449 600 watt 4 way quadraxial speaker system for about $ 40.00. Are the Pyramid speakers a good brand? If not do you know of a brand that would cost about the same amount? I am limited on my money. Thank You in advance for the help.

they are not a bad speaker,but for the money(if you dont want to pay that much)i say buy a pair of pioneer speakers,they are a good sound and as good as jensens and a lot cheaper too.go to wal-marts and they have a wide variety of speakers to fit your pocketbook.
I would go and get some Pioneer 5 way 6x9's. They are pretty good, i have them in my car.
I'm not from the states but I do know some about car audio. Pyramid is a good brand for domestic use, they are cheap and reliable. But to get true sound from your stereo I would suggest JL audio or kicker but these can be expensive. Almost forgot if you decide to buy the pyramids be sure to get the spec. display on your car stereo it makes a very big difference (i.e the watts and amps). Good luck

You may want to go into a local audio shop or circuit city or even best buy and listen to what they got. Some Infinity coaxial speakers would sound very good off the hu but you should take a listen. Polk audio is another brand or even Apline.I recomend you get coaxials for you dont need a speaker with four tweeters and they cost more. Here are some links to those speakers.

pyramids are okay. try sony, pioneer, kicker, alpine makes good stuff too. wal-mart usually has pioneer and sony 6 x 9s for an alright price.
I would not recommend the Pyramid. They are a mediocre brand. What kind of car is it? Also, you should really look at what kind of stereo you have. If you have the stock stereo, then maybe you should just go with the Pyramid... If you are looking for something basic, you can always find some decent speakers for a reasonable price at WalMart. Also, I saw this kit that Walmart sells, it consists of a new SonyCD stereo, and 2 sets of speakers, 2 6 x 9s and 2 5 1/4 ....

oh yea, and before and if you take my advice, READ all of the specs because if you don't feel safe about the 200 watt rms amp @ 4 instead of 150RMS then don't do it. (even though i have it hooked up to my home amp that runs 200 watt RMS 1-16 ohms)
Please don't waste your money. If you go for some good speakers they'll last just about forever. I bought some JBL 6x9s 8 years ago ($100) and I've had them in my last 3 cars.
