Will a 3 speed munsey transmission fit with a chevy inline 6 1949 engine??

Question: I have a friend who wants to add 3 speed munsey tran to his chevy engine it's a inline 6 cylinder 216 inches year is 1949. any help would be cool
Answers: I own a transmission shop, and I think it won't work. The problem will be the 49 has a closed in drive-shaft, if I remember correctly. It might actually bolt to your bell-housing, but it depends on what bell-housing you have. Some bell-housings had two different bolt patterns on them for the transmission. I don't see any problem with the clutch, or pilot bearing, but I think you may have to get a bell-housing from a 55-57 for it to work. If it still has the original rear end, then I don't see any way.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!
