To answer your axle question:
Your Rodeo has a modified Dana 44 with a thicker-than-standard ring gear, unique to Isuzu.

Those cooling fins on the aluminum dif cover have been known to break-off in certain situations, thus allowing the gear oil to spill out -- but it's an easy fix... a standard steel D-44 dif cover (or a heavy-duty aftermarket unit) will bolt right on in its place.

Just for the record...
No matter what anyone might try to tell you, this *IS NOT* the same unit as the aluminum-housing modified D-44 that Jeep used in the Cherokee... On the 1998+ Isuzu D-44s, the ONLY part that is aluminum is the cover; the housing itself is steel.

Hope this helps.
