Can someone please tell me if the parts on a 1987 Chevy Blazer can interchange with a 1996 Chevy Blazer??
Question: They are both 4 W.D. vehicles. To be more specific, I need to know if the ring and pinion from an '87 Chevy Blazer (S10) will work on a '96 Chevy Blazer. If no one knows the answer, does anyone know who I could call and ask? I appreciate any help given. We were trying to bring it home and driving it down the road, it sounded like a jack hammer!
Answers: Assuming that you're talking about the GM 7.5 /7.625 rear end then yes, the ring and pinion should be interchangeable. Its my understanding that GM used the same rear-end thru '97. Keep in mind that installing used gears may add some harshness coming from the rear end because the ring and pinion actually broke in in a different rear end.
no sorry it wont only about 5 years diff will the parts interchange good luck
If you don't know, call AutoZone, or a similar parts store. If they don't know, they can look it up on their computers or in their manuals. I'm not well versed on the Blazers, so that is the best advice I can give. Good luck.
Ok here's what you need to to I know the older gm and chevys but when in doubt call the guys who know.
