How much does it take to fill a.t.m. machines??
Question: i never see them being re-filled and given the the numberof people who use them i wondered how much they hold and how often they need to be topped up
Answers: I would think they hold quite a bit, way more than a few hundred like the person above seems to believe...I'm sure you never see them filled because they are prolly filled before the bank is opened each day, or in the early morning hours, when there are little to no people around(for 24 hour ATMs).
Sounds like your casing the place? You never see them filled because there filled from the back.
They dont hold that much though a few hundred maby.
Maybe £1000000
In England & Wales (Scotland has its own currency) ATMs usually contain a mixture of £10 and £20 notes. They are filled in a secure room at the rear of the machine. Some are replenished daily depending on the amount of use.
It has been known for the wrong notes to be loaded: at one location last year £20 notes were being issued instead of £10, giving customers a pleasant surprise. Fortunately most were honest and returned the excess payment - the bank knew who had benefitted, so they were able to claw back the money from the others.
In Australia we have ATM's that are not always located in walls and are filled from the front. But, of course we also have the rear loading ones.
The amount they hold vary on the machine size, location and company which owns it but they range from several thousand Australian upwards of 10,000.
In Australia we also have dye bombs so if a machine is jolted more then it would be normal for the machine to move the dye is released and covers the notes therefore making them unusable.
In the UK, they hold a maximum of £20k depending upon the mix of denominations.
the atm took 120k and 140K and we hand 2 machines .. they where filled every week...
