Does anyone know how to get a key outta the ignistion if the key is upside down??

Question: my retarted friend put the key in the starter thing upside down.. u know when the key works both ways but doesn't come out if its upside down? well we can't get the key outta the ignition.. lol yes i know lame but i need help
Answers: Well, I've had the same happen to me. I wiggled it and pulled hard. Of course you may damage the ignition. But you have to get the thing out of there somehow. At this point you can either get some vice grips and force it out or think about changing your ignition. Changing the ignition can be done by yourself. I recommend getting a Haynes manual for the car and seeing if it's a project that you would undertake yourself before getting over your head. If not, take it to a reliable mechanic. Preferably not a chain.

On other thought, call Auto Zone. They always give free advice and it's usually the best. They don't do repairs so they have no reason to lie.
It is too bad that happened. I hate it when that happens!! A locksmith. I hope you are not like up in the mountains....
You can try spraying a little WD-40 in it (you can buy it at an auto discount store), if that doesn't work you need to have a mechanic fix it.
God that is SO lame..
