How old does and old car have to be before it's called an antique??

The cut off date for a classic car is 1973. We just checked into this last week because we bought a 1968 Dodge Dart. Just remember, if you register your car as a classic you can only drive it 25,000 a year. Hope this helped!
I must beg to differ, a 'Classic' car as defined by the Classic Car Club of America is a specific car built between 1925 and 1948. Not all cars of that era are classics. Post-war cars, with the exception of the 1946, 47, 48 Lincoln Continental are Special Interest cars including the '69. Antique cars, on the other hand are cars built between 1895 and about 1915 and are hand built, so a Model T isn't considered an antique even if it is a 1910 model.
