My car was hit by a driver who did not stop.??
Question: I got his license plate number and the police gave me his name and address. How can I find out who his insurance agent is?
Answers: In some states you can still get insurance information from a tag trace, which you can see if the police can do for you. Barring that, report it to your insurance company and they can try to get it. They can also try contacting this person to get the information. If he ducks, the tag has no ins. info, or he is a bona fide uninsured person, see if you have uninsured motorist coverage on your policy that will pay for your damages. This coverage varies by state, so don't take this answer as a guarantee.
that my friend is a hit and run, you should've just told the police to go get him, that is a crime you know.
the police should have went and picked him up for leaving the scene of an accident,,i don't know where you live at,,but if i did that here in Tennessee,i would be arrested,,you might want to take a police officer with you,,and go talk to him,,don't go by your self though,,he might say you threatened him or or something,,always have a witness,,you need to do this as soon as possible,,and have the police take a picture of his car also,,this will be important to your insurance company,,good luck with this,,be calm and cool about it,,and you will be OK ,,i hope this helps.
The police will give them a ticket and you need to call the police station and find out where to get a report and ask them to give you the ins. info.Appear in court or they can get off scott free.
if you got his name and number then you need to file charges against him and turn it over to your insurance company.
Give this information to your insurance company and let them take care of it, that's what you pay them for.
Did the police make out an accident report? Do you have any witnesses? Please tell me the officer made out a report! Call your insurance company, let them take care of all the details for you. If you don't have insurance, then you are going to have to do the work. If you have witnesses, I would write the man and tell him, that the car he hit was yours, and you have people ready to testify to that in a court of law, but you are willing to give him a chance to make things right by paying for the damages. That is if you state will let you make a claim against him, if not have insurance. In some states, if you do not carry insurance, you can't be reimbursed for damages. So, if that's the case then you are stuck fixing your own car. If not, then write him a letter, send it certified mail so he has to sign for it. Don't go off on him, be semi-reasonable (at least at first) asking what is going to do?
If you have insurance, then let the company do all the leg work. That's what we get paid for! Good luck!
God bless us all.........
You can't - it's private information. What you can do is file the claim with your own company and let them go after him. If you don't have collision coverage, you'll have to file against him in small claims court.
