If someone jumps in front of/on a vehicle on a public road who pays for the damage???

Question: We listen to a scanner at night and tonight we heard about a person sitting on the overpass and we were wondering who would be responsible for the damage should this person or any person jumped in front of or landed on a vehicle moving on the highway below
Answers: The owner of the car who carries insurance will pay. Pedestrians always have the right away. Even if they foolishly endanger everyone else. But they may receive a ticket for causing an accident.
The person who jumped would be at fault.
My dad accidently hit a young girl while driving down the road years ago. He was not at fault because the girl ran out in front of him. It's sad it happened, but it was her fault and so my dad did not have to pay for damages.
