Me and my mam dont understand what a named driver actully is , we dont know who would have to pay for it??

Question: we dont know who would have to pay for it or if it was free please tell us anything you can about being a named driver and prices
Answers: A named driver is more explicit than a policy that allows anyone 18 or 21 and up not living in your house to drive your vehicle. The price of insurance is less if the only people allowed to drive your car is named on the policy, that way the insurance Co. knows who the drivers are and their driving record is available to look up.
????
on your insurance policy there is a named driver, as in the driver the insurance company calculates the premium on.

once a car is insured any licensed driver may operate it.

the insurance goes with the car...... of course if a 17 year old wrecks his moms car they may scream a bit, and then make you pay for the child or they may EXCLUDE the child from operating your cars.

untill you get in an accident the car is covered.... drive safe!
you should recieve a declaratrions page outlining all the charges, then you will know - if not go talk to your agent, thats what theyre there for...
unless uoy have internet bought insurance - then I wish you lots of patience sittin on hold and actually getting answers when you do get to talk to a human (if you can understand their accented broken english)!
If the policy is issued under the names Joe and Mary Smith then Joe and Mary are named insureds . A named insured is the person who can make changes to a policy.
